ETB-Pegasus Stride System
Each horse has its own natural gait characteristics. The most basic of these is stride duration, speed and stride length and as training aims to optimise these at different, winning, sports levels monitoring them objectively can be a clear aid in the process.
The current, most common method for measuring these characteristics in different horses uses high cost 3D motion camera equipment. This can produce accurate data but it requires a lengthy, laborious set-up in a very controlled environment and you only obtain information from the side and strides that were in view of the camera.
ETB-Pegasus however uses 21st century technology that allows all around, accurate, quick, any environment, every stride taken, information. You can be ready to test in the time it takes to tack up.
- A limb sensor is mounted on a brushing boot.
- A GPS sensor is mounted on the rider’s hat.
- A laptop is used to analyse the data.
The Stride System not only shows you the stride duration (rhythm), speed and length of stride but the GPS readout also shows where you were in the test at any particular time. This can aid answering questions like: Are your circles consistent, is your horse anticipating, does your rhythm change at the corners?
You can also link the information obtained with standard video to see how it relates visually.
